Out of stock

Creality HP-ASA Black is the outdoor engineering filament. It prints much like ABS and shares its strength and heat resistance, but adds the one property ABS lacks: genuine UV stability. Parts left in full South African sun hold their colour and their mechanical properties instead of yellowing and going brittle over a season.

Black is the standard choice for outdoor ASA parts. Where black ABS chalks and fades after a season in the sun, ASA holds its colour — which is the entire reason to reach for this material over ABS in the first place.

Key Features

  • UV-Stable Black: holds its depth outdoors where black ABS chalks and fades
  • UV Stable: holds its colour and mechanical properties outdoors where ABS yellows and goes brittle
  • Weather Resistant: shrugs off rain, humidity and temperature swings — built for outdoor parts
  • High Heat Tolerance: stays rigid well above the point where PLA and PETG soften
  • Diameter Tolerance: ±0.05 mm for consistent extrusion at engineering temperatures
  • Vacuum-Sealed Spool: packed with desiccant to protect against moisture in transit and storage

Recommended Print Settings

  • Nozzle Temperature: 240°C – 260°C
  • Bed Temperature: 90°C – 110°C
  • Print Speed: 40 – 60 mm/s
  • Cooling Fan: 0% — cooling weakens layer bonding and causes cracking
  • Enclosure: required — ASA needs a stable ambient temperature to avoid warping
  • Ventilation: print in a ventilated space; ASA emits fumes while printing

Compatible Printers

ASA needs an enclosed printer with a hotend rated to at least 260°C and a bed that holds 100°C. The Creality K1, K1C, K1 Max and K2 Plus handle it natively. Open-frame machines such as the Ender 3, Ender 5 and CR-10 need an enclosure and an all-metal hotend before ASA becomes practical. Use a PEI plate at 100 – 110°C and add a 10 – 15 mm brim on anything with a large footprint — ASA corners lift without warning.
